3rd October DEMONSTRATION – Marion Chapman

Marion Chapman: Marion Chapman is a UNSW Art & Design graduate and Sydney-based artist who specialises in watercolour and print-making. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of Sydney. These are her two passions: visual arts and linguistics. In 2016, Marion won the Watercolour Prize at St George Art Society and was a finalist in the Fleurieu Food & Wine Prize, Adelaide. Other recent prizes include Winner Printmaking Oyster Bay Art Festival, Best in Show Goulburn Show, 2-time winner Abstract Section Combined Art Societies of Sydney (CASS), Winner Works on Paper CASS, and the Irodori Watercolour Prize. Selected exhibitions include Hunters Hill Art Prize, the Fisher’s Ghost (watercolour), Wollongong Watercolour Prize, Camden Art Prize, St George Art Award (Hurstville Council) and The Australian Print Triennial. During her Master of Art, her tradigital print was selected to exhibit with the University of NSW in ‘Messages from the South: Contemporary Australian Prints’ at the National Taiwan University of Arts. Her work is held in various collections, including Tokyo’s Irodori collection, the Hurstville Heart Centre (a suite of 13 works) and St George Hospital (a suite of nine works in the rheumatology department). Her work is held by private investors across the world from Miami to London. Her work is also the cover art for the Australian poetry book “Between the Leaves”, Ed. K. Holmes, Perth: UWA Publishing.
