A MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT HELEN:

The exhibition would not happen without the support of all these generous business people and organisations.  We thank each and every one for their contribution.

Members, please support these local sponsors as they so generously support us.

My personal special thanks to our hard-working committee – Robyn, Ray, Doreen, Heather, Karen, Colin and Kathy. It’s amazing that so much can be accomplished by so few!

LIFE MEMBERSHIP

Life membership as you know is the highest form of thanks, made to acknowledge outstanding and significant commitment given by a member to an organisation over a long period of time. Following the September committee meeting, Life Membership was awarded to Past President Judy White in recognition of her contribution to KAS during her 13-year membership, including her 9 years as President. The committee specially thank Judy for her belief in the committee as a team.  I’m sure we all thank her for the warmth and friendship she extended to members old and new. Judy remains a member, and we look forward to seeing her at many KAS events for a long time to come. Congratulations Judy White.

CLASSES:

We sadly report that Kathy Karas who has been our resident artist for 5 years has decided to finish her weekly classes at the Coach House.  Kathy has helped and inspired many with her skill and patience as an artist, teacher, and organiser. Kathy will remain a member, but without the ongoing weekly commitment she will have more time to concentrate on expanding her own art practice, and maybe even have some time to relax!  I’m sure we all wish Kathy every success with her art and whatever else she undertakes.

STUDENT AWARD: Did you know the Art Society supports an annual prize for the Top Yr 12 Art Student at Kiama High School?  This award is long- standing, and I’m delighted to be your rep this year and award the prize at the coming Year 12 graduation.

There are many activities planned for the rest of the year, and lots more information to absorb, so keep reading!                                                                                                       Helen Pain

Thank you to all those who entered our exhibition to make it such an inspiring and interesting art show of a very high standard.
