WORKSHOP – Tracey Miller ‘ Macro Floral Painting’ in Acrylics,
Join us for a creative day at this workshop and make a beautiful, large-scale floral painting. Tracey has many years of art experience and will guide you through the steps to create your own art work.
‘I live and work in the beautiful Southern Highlands of NSW in Australia. The natural beauty of the area inspires me to create images based on nature, both native and introduced. The South Coast is only an hour’s drive away by car so I feel I have access to the best of country and coast. In my own art practice I use acrylic paint and have recently begun to experiment with oils.
I like lino cutting as it can be done by hand, without a press, and it’s a portable type of printmaking.
I enjoy teaching children and adults in their art making as well as the elderly in a local nursing home. Making art works is a great therapy for all ages.
I encourage beginner artists to experiment and I gently guide them in finding and releasing their creative spirit.’

7th MARCH – at the Coach House
DEMONSTRATION : Ros Psakis – ‘Still Life”
I’m sure you’ll remember the wonderful demonstration Ros gave us last year interrupted by the blackout. Undeterred, Ros continued out on the deck and kept all present enthralled.
This time Ros will demonstrate her wonderful techniques creating light-filled ‘Still Life’.
Ros is a popular demonstrator and workshop tutor with her easy to understand method of teaching. Early training was with Gloria Ransom and Allan Fizzell. Her continuing lessons come from Nature herself.
‘ Learning to paint is an ongoing journey. And what a wonderful and exciting journey it is. There are no shortcuts to success, no easy formulas to follow, only dedication and a passion for what you are doing and lots of brush mileage. My paintings are usually completed in one sitting. I work very quickly and like to finish in one go without losing my ‘momentum’. So many different subjects appeal to me. Landscapes, figures, still life, animals, flowers etc. Everything is paintable if the light is right. It is the light that either catches or loses my attention. If the light on a subject is right, then that object becomes magic and worthy of painting.
I paint in an impressionist style but do not distort Nature. I see no reason to.
TIME : 12.45 pm for 1.00 pm start.
COST : $10 members $15 non-members
A delicious afternoon tea is served after the demonstration.
