MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT HELEN

ANNUAL EXHIBITION:

By now all members will have received a copy of the Entry Form and conditions of entry for our 41st Annual Exhibition – either by email or by post.

It’s gratifying to see entries already arriving – even some from non-members who have seen the forms on our website.  This is proof that our communication is working, and augurs well for our exhibition.

Big thanks to Doreen and Ray for all the care and effort they have once again put into the entry forms and the website – and indeed so many aspects of the exhibition.

I hope everyone is now painting and coming up with wonderful works to enter in the exhibition.

A NEW LOOK THIS YEAR!

You may have noticed that the Leagues Club has recently been undergoing renovation, and we are thrilled that the updates include a new-look Auditorium and Conference Room. Several of your committee were lucky enough to have a preview inspection, and we were blown away by the changes. We are so lucky that our exhibition will be one of the first users of the newly renovated rooms. The spaces are essentially the same, and we are busily working out how best to make the most of the new decor. It’s very exciting. More details next month.

THE RAFFLE:

Unfortunately, Mother Nature was not kind on the first day of our raffle ticket selling at the Kiama Seaside Market. However, it was a good practice run. Hopefully the sun will shine on Sunday July 21st and we’ll be able to promote the exhibition and sell many raffle tickets.  Joe Maul has volunteered to create his always popular caricatures so why not pop down to help sell tickets, or just say hello. Thanks to Joe!

This year’s raffle features a fabulous etching of The Kiama Coast by our member and committee member Colin Harwood, and a lovely watercolour by Melbourne artist Julie Goldspink, who will be tutoring a workshop for us in late September.  Thank you Colin and Julie for your generosity.

Happy painting everyone.                                                                                                                                                           Helen
