Becky says:
“I want to catch the joy with hues that sing to you. I want to see the figure as close to nude as possible as normal as possible being with one another in a familiar environment.
I work in many layers and generally in oil paints – they are deliciously true to their colours and abilities but I am delving into somewhat unfamiliar territory by working with acrylic paints appreciating that they have a special something too.
During the demonstration I will be showing my layered approach – working from a canvas that already has a starting point. I will show my style of depicting the figure and how it becomes part of the coastal story. It will be a lively, colourful and joyful demonstration with plenty of
opportunity to ask questions and engage with the work.’
Becky Guggisberg is a Kiama based artist, mother of 4 & registered nurse working in the emergency department at Shellharbour Hospital. This year she resigned from her permanent nursing position to paint full time.
