LET’S MAKE OUR COACH HOUSE HOME LOOK LIKE A LIVING BREATHING ART SPACE!
The KAS Committee would like to initiate monthly Exhibitions of work by member artists on the “Wall” at The Coach House.
This will be available for all members. You can apply as a pre- arranged group with friends, or you can list as an individual willing to share with other artists as organised by the Coachhouse Exhibition Commiittee. Specific tuition groups, workshop groups or KAS Classes can also apply.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY FOR THE WALL AT THE COACH HOUSE
SPACE AND SIZE OF PAINTINGS: The available wall space is 7 panels wide, each I metre wide by approx. 1.2 metres deep.
NUMBER OF WORKS: The number of paintings per artist will depend upon the framed size of the paintings you propose to hang, and the number of exhibiting artists
SALES: Paintings can be for display only, or for sale. Purchases must be organised through the Committee (contact either Susan Alexander or Karen Wright)
COMMISSION: As for the Old Fire station, commission will be $15%
LABELS:
All paintings to be labelled on the back with Artist’s name, phone number, title of painting, medium and price if selling. The label on the front must show Artist’s name, title and Price or NFS (not for sale).
Each exhibit must be the original work of the artist. If painted under tuition or in a class, this must be acknowledged on the front and back Labels.
HANGING REQUIREMENTS:
- Framed works or stretched canvases only. Stretched canvases to have painted or neat edges
- D rings either side with twine, (no staples) (no slippery hard wire)
- Paintings hang better if D rings are approx. 10cm from the top of the painting.
SIGN-IN REGISTER
- All artists must sign in the exhibition register that they accept these conditions.
- The register will list artist, painting title, medium, price or NFS, and Contact number.
- All paintings must be signed in on Hanging Day and signed out on collection.
HANGING AND COLLECTION:
1.30 to 2pm, on the Monday of the last week of each calendar month, ready for a new exhibition at each KAS monthly demonstration. Please adhere to these times. Any other arrangements must be prearranged by email to one of the organisers.
AS for other KAS exhibitions, the Kiama Art Society will exercise every care with works submitted, but no liability will be accepted for the loss of, damage to, or breakage of any exhibit in its custody, or for the insurance of exhibits either in transit or in the exhibition. ___________________________________________________________________________
